Well, it was bound to happen after all those 5* sessions...

TheOH came along to take pix and film... so I was keen to repeat Wednesday's epic performance. Inflated the 11m kite, laid out the lines and found a knot in one. So, reeled 'em in, got the other set of lines out of the van, set those out. A buggier helped me launch, only by this time the slow puncture in the bladder (which I reckon is not so slow anymore) had leaked enough that the kite went all out of shape...

So, back to the beach, pump up kite, reconnect, buggy man helps me launch... kite folds in on itself, goes downwind, unfolds, powers up, and I do the Superman thing.

Try and do a run or two but the kite tips keep folding in on themselves with the up & down wind, Superman 2...

Manage to get ONE decent run, come off, then the *****ing quick release mushroom thing gets caught in my harness, pings off, and gets lost in the sea. Game over, next contestant please. Another black mark against the GK bar and lines (nice kites though).

Got the kite in to the beach and just as well; a squall came through turning the beach into a scene of carnage with lots of very panicky kiters screaming for landings, people getting dragged all over the beach...

..and five minutes later there wasn't a breath of wind. I've got to buy 2 new lines, a new QR mushroom thing, and probably a new bladder, too. So all in all a totally and utterly s**t day!
